In this video Cindy is demonstrating the "Stay-n-Alive" exercise. This is a general exercise for balance, coordination, strengthening and general movement of the arms and legs. This exercise will be done in standing.
Breaking it Down
Arms
- Start in standing with back of the right thumb touching the front of the left hip bone
- Move the right arm up over head and to the right, rotating your thumb backwards
Legs
- Step with the left leg out to the side and back in
Putting it all together - combine opposite arm and leg movements for an increased challenge of coordination and balance
- Start in standing with back of the right thumb touching the front of the left hip bone
- Move the right arm up over head and to the right, rotating your thumb backwards as you step out with the left leg
- Bring the right arm back down to the left hip, rotating the thumb forward, as you step back in with the left leg
- Repeat with opposite arm and leg
Perform 5 reps on each side
Use a chair as needed for balance
