In this video the caregiver will learn how to instruct an individual on how to get on/off the tolilet using the toilet mounted Toilet Seat Riser with Arms. This may be a good option to accommodate for both improving the height of the toilet as well as having handles for upper extremity assistance when getting on and off of the toilet. Always distribute even weight through both hands when getting up and down from the toilet. These same instructions for getting on/off the toilet can be used in varying situations and with different pieces of equipment as well. We always want to make sure the toilet height and push off surfaces for the hands are appropriate.
Some individuals may need demonstration or tactile cues along with verbal cues.
