An Introduction to Standing Exercises

In this video Cindy is introducing General Standing Exercises.  These exercises can be performed at the kitchen counter or holding onto a stable chair, as long as the chair does not roll or rock.

As with any exercise program, you need to consult with your doctor prior to starting.  If during exercise you have the onset of pain or an increase in pain, stop immediately and consult with your doctor.

Each of these exercises will be broken down individually for instruction. The amount of support you may need during each exercise (two hands, one hand, no hands) will vary depending on individual ability.

It is up to you to determine how much hand support is best and safest for you. The number of exercise repetitions and sets per day are just a suggestion and should be adjusted, as needed, to fit your fitness level and tolerance.

If you feel you need further and/or individual instruction on an exercise program, please consult with a local physical therapist.
