Stretch 1- Neck/Cervical

In this video Becca is demonstrating Neck/Cervical Stretches.  These are general exercises for movement and stretching of the  neck. 

  • Sit up nice and tall with your feet on the floor and your hands resting on your thighs or sides of your chair
  • Drop your right ear down toward your right shoulder until you feel a gentle stretch
  • Hold for a 4-5 count
  • Return to center
  • Drop your left ear down toward your left shoulder until you feel a gentle stretch
  • Hold for a 4-5 count
  • (If stretch becomes too uncomfortable pull back slightly toward center)
  • Return to center
  • Perform 2-3 repetitions on each side as tolerated

 

  • Next, drop right ear toward right shoulder, moving the head down and around to the left shoulder in the motion of a half circle
  • Continue the movement back and forth
  • Perform 2-3 repetitions as tolerated
