In this video the caregiver will learn about a tub transfer bench and how to instruct an individual in it's use. A tub transfer bench is used in a tub shower and may be helpful to individuals experiencing generalized weakness, fatigue, difficulty with balance or any other condition affecting one's ability to safely step over the tub and safely stand while taking a shower. A handheld shower head can also assist in an individuals improved independence in the shower.

**Make sure the tub bench is level

*Use caution when getting out due to potential water on the floor
*Use of a towel along the outer edge of the tub is recommended
*Make sure to to tuck the shower curtain into the separation in the tub bench between the outer and inner portion of the bench
*Tuck the rest of the curtain inside the tub around the bench
*Another option is to cut an inexpensive shower curtain in order to feed it through the separation in the tub bench, directing water into the tub as shown in a demonstration video here:
