Cindy demonstrates how to use a rollator walker,  which may be helpful to people who are experiencing mild generalized weakness or difficulty with balance. Not recommended for anyone that has to bear a great deal of weight through the arms due to safety with the ease of rolling. Individuals who are on oxygen and/or have poor endurance may find this helpful as a way to transport their oxygen and for a seat to rest when needed.

Rollator Features:

  1. 4 wheels, possibly 3 wheels
  2. Typically has a seat and some sort of basket/bag under the seat
  3. Brakes - can be used in 2 ways - a. push down to lock before sitting down on the seat  b. squeeze, pulling upward to slow the walker down as needed (on a decline)

How to Use the Rollator

  1. Stay with the rollator
  2. Use a normal walking pattern as you push it forward, walk naturally
  3. Use Step Through gait (walking) pattern with one foot passing the other
  4. No need to lift with rollator easily changing direction with front swivel wheels
