Cindy demonstrates how to use a standard walker, which may be helpful to an individual who has had a lower extremity injury or surgery and is partial weightbearing (limited weight) This walker is not usually recommended for someone with balance issues, especially with loss of balance backwards.

How to Walk with a Standard Walker

  1. Move walker forward about arms length
  2. Step forward with injured leg about midway into walker
  3. Put weight through your arms as you step forward with the good leg
  4. Repeat this process as you walk
