Precautions to take when using a Lift Chair

  • Wear non skid socks or shoes with good soles to prevent feet from slipping as the chair is lifted (this includes on carpeting as well)
  • Use caution if a plastic backed incontinence pad must be used.  Place rubberized shelf liner between pad and chair to help prevent the pad from sliding off of the chair as it is lifted.
  • Remote can sometimes be confusing, label clearing as needed for up/down direction.
  • Remeber that a lift chair cannot be lifted or the leg rest let down if the power goes out unless the chair is specifically equipped with a battery backup.

Insurance Cover:  most insurance companies only pay for the cost of the motor of the chair, not the entire chair.
